A vowel sound is a speech sound that is produced without any form of hindrance or Obstruction of the air from the lungs.
Basically, the vowel sounds are divided into 12 monophthongs (pure vowels) and 8 Diphthongs (impure vowels). Monophthongs have single symbols representing them, But two monophthongs make up a diphthong. Furthermore, there are 7 short Monophthongs and 5 long ones (long monophthongs have length marks/:/).
Note: All vowel sounds are voiced.
